Review dispute
A review dispute is a formal challenge to a review's legitimacy through the platform's own process, distinct from replying to it.
Disputes succeed on policy grounds — no genuine experience, conflict of interest, personal information, off-topic content — and fail on the grounds owners most want to use, which is that the review is unfair or inaccurate.
Most platforms allow one dispute per review, so a poorly evidenced first attempt closes the door.
In practice
Document first: dates, transaction records, why no matching customer exists. Submit once, with evidence, and reply publicly in the meantime.
Common questions
- How long does a review dispute take?
- Days to several weeks depending on platform, and most are declined. Plan on the review staying up.
