LLM visibility

LLM visibility is the extent to which a brand appears in answers generated by assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

It is not the same as search ranking. Assistants draw on training data, retrieval from the live web, and in some products a browsing tool — so being widely described across many third-party sources matters more than ranking first for one query.

Practical levers are entity clarity (a consistent description of what you are), corroboration across independent sources, and machine-readable content that an assistant can retrieve cheaply.

In practice

Describe the product the same way everywhere, publish genuinely useful reference content, and make a plain-text or markdown version of key pages available.

Common questions

Can I pay to appear in ChatGPT answers?
Not for the organic answer. Visibility comes from being widely and consistently described across sources the model can reach.
