Review widget

A review widget is an embeddable component that displays live reviews from a platform on your own website.

The value is conversion rather than SEO: displayed third-party reviews reduce friction at the point of decision. Most widgets render client-side, so the content is often not indexed and should not be relied on for rankings.

Platform terms govern what you can display and how it must be attributed — several prohibit filtering the feed to show only positive reviews.

In practice

Show the unfiltered feed, attribute it to the source platform, and keep it near the point of action rather than on a dedicated testimonials page nobody visits.

Common questions

Do review widgets help SEO?
Rarely, since most render client-side. They help conversion, which is usually the more valuable outcome anyway.
