Local pack

The local pack is the block of three map-based business results Google shows above the organic listings for searches with local intent.

Placement is driven by relevance, distance, and prominence. Reviews feed prominence directly — both the count and the rating — and review content contributes keyword relevance.

The pack is where most local clicks happen, which makes review signals a ranking input rather than only a conversion input.

In practice

Improving pack position is mostly category accuracy, proximity you cannot change, and a steady flow of reviews that mention the actual service by name.

Common questions

How do I get into the local pack?
Accurate primary category, a complete profile, consistent citations, and sustained review volume and recency. Distance from the searcher caps what is achievable.
