Local SEO

Local SEO is the practice of improving a business's visibility in geographically constrained searches — the local pack, Maps, and localised organic results.

It differs from general SEO in that proximity is a hard input you cannot optimise, so the controllable levers are profile accuracy, citations, locally relevant content, and review signals.

Reviews sit at the intersection: they are simultaneously a ranking factor, a click-through factor, and a conversion factor.

In practice

Get the profile and categories right first, then work on review volume and reply coverage, then on locally specific content. In that order.

Common questions

How long does local SEO take?
Profile and citation fixes can move things in weeks. Review-signal and content work compounds over months.
